[1]Women's March

Happy Women's History Month,
John! It’s nice to meet you, I'm Ann.

I’m reaching out today because I want to share with you the volunteer work
I’ve been doing with Women’s March and explain why I want more women like
me to have the opportunity to get involved in this fight for a feminist
future.

After you’re done reading my story, [ [link removed] ]I hope you can
donate $3 or anything you can to Women’s March in honor of
Women's History Month to help fund their feminist training and organizing
programs for this month and beyond.

I was inspired to start volunteering with Women’s March leading up to the
2020 election because I knew — like so many other women on this team —
that it would take all of us doing our part to flip the Senate and the
White House.

I knew working with women would be the right way to go about it because WE
are the doers, the movers, the builders, and the caretakers of every
organization.

Together, me and other Women’s Marchers texted potential women voters in
battleground states to help drive the voter turnout we needed to win big
in November. The more I volunteered and participated with these women, the
more energized I felt to do more.

So when Women’s March invited me to attend the Feminist Fundamentals Short
Course — a training course to develop feminist leadership skills — I
thought what a great idea to take this leap to dive deeper into the
movement.

Here are me and my classmates in the Feminist Fundamentals Short Course!

I learned so much from the women who spoke on intersectionality, the
social culture, establishing our power within, and how we are connected or
not connected to the powerful institutions in our culture. I hope to
implement the structure of organizing that I learned based on the Women’s
March’s principles of inclusivity and anti-racism in order to create
action at a local level here in Palatine and within our state of Illinois
along with the women in our Women2Women Circle group, NW Women’s VOICES
(Vowing to Overcome Inequities and Committed to the Environment).

I know firsthand the powerful impact Women’s March’s volunteer and
training programs have on women like me — they inspire us to organize in
our communities and fight for the feminist future we deserve. The work
Women’s Marchers are doing is why we flipped the White House and the
Senate last election and why I believe we can continue turning the tides
of this country.

The Feminist Fundamentals Short Course and all of the training programs
Women’s March offers are free to attend — but they can only stay that way
with enough grassroots funding. [ [link removed] ]So today, if you can afford it, will
you make a donation in honor of Women's History Month to help power
Women’s March’s organizing programs so we can continue harnessing the
power of women?

Thank you for reading my story. See you out there!

Ann
