This week marks one year since the World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic. In that time, the Trump administration and the Biden administration have both had the opportunity to tackle the pandemic head-on.

Here's a look at how these two administrations compare in their pandemic response:

Trump Administration
• Tried to impose stricter work requirements for food stamps, making it harder for adults without children to qualify.
• The CARES Act provided one direct relief check of $1,200 per adult and $500 per child, one time only. No other relief was passed.
• Set up a relief program to provide forgivable loans to small businesses. Hundreds of those loans went to publicly traded companies.
• Ignored and downplayed the advice of scientists from day one. Spread harmful and dangerous misinformation and asked states to be "liberated" from mask mandates and lockdowns. Suggested people drink bleach.

Biden Administration
• Invested $27 billion in housing assistance and food aid for more than 40 million Americans.
• Already passed two relief checks, totaling $2,000, and dramatically expanded the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit, benefiting 2,368,000 children & 697,000 workers in Pennsylvania alone • in addition to expanding unemployment benefits.
• Rushed more than $47 billion to small businesses. Expanded the Paycheck Protection Program.
• Enlisted the advice of scientists and health experts. Rushed $7.5 billion to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to track, administer and distribute COVID-19 vaccines.


The facts speak for themselves. The pandemic has claimed over half a million American lives and caused the biggest economic downturn since the Great Depression. After months of reckless leadership, we elected President Joe Biden who is already working hard to crush this virus.
