Last week Senator Roy Blunt announced he will not seek re-election to the United States Senate in 2022. The Missouri Republican Party is grateful for everything Senator Blunt has done for Missouri, the United States and conservatism.
Senator Blunt began his service to Missouri as the Greene County Clerk. This position would lead him to become Missouri's Secretary State—the first Republican to hold that office in 50 years. After his post as the Secretary of State, Roy Blunt was elected to Congress in Missouri's 7th District. After serving in leadership in the House of Representatives, Blunt successfully ran for US Senate in 2010 and was re-elected in 2016.
Senator Blunt is revered by many for his strong conservative principles and always working to serve the people of Missouri. One of those people is President Donald Trump, on Tuesday President Trump gave the following statement "“I very much appreciate and respect the career of Senator Roy Blunt of Missouri. He was one of the first people who came to my defense against the Impeachment Hoax #2 (IH-2), and it was greatly appreciated by me,”
Missouri Republican Party Chairman Nick Myers said " Throughout his years of service to Missourians, Senator Blunt always made Missouri his number one priority and has always done his duty. I look forward to Missouri and the entire nation continuing to benefit from his presence in the US Senate over the next two years."
Senator Blunt's impact on this state and country will be felt for generations to come and for that we will forever be thankful.
