Tell the U.S. Senate:
"Pass S. 1―the For the People Act―to protect and expand voting rights for all Americans."

John,
Since the November election, when Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump by 7 million votes, some state legislators throughout our country have been promoting "The Big Lie" that Trump actually won the election.
These attempts to overturn the election results were quite blatant in the weeks following the November election, where Donald Trump looked to invalidate millions of votes from largely Black districts in Atlanta, Detroit and Philadelphia.
The Big Lie also resulted in an attempted coup on our U.S. Capitol―where a violent mob incited by the now-former president left 5 people dead and 140 Capitol Police officers injured.
Now, state legislators are using Trump’s Big Lie as an excuse to introduce hundreds of voter suppression laws intended to make voting more difficult―particularly for low-income communities and communities of color.1 And, just this week, Iowa’s governor signed a bill into law that will restrict the number of early voting days and force polling locations to close early. This new law comes after Iowa voters turned out in record numbers in November’s general election.2
In order to create a more just democracy, free from voter suppression and free from special interest influence, we need to strengthen our voting laws―and that starts by passing S1, the For the People Act.
Just last week, the U.S. House passed this critical democracy reform bill. Now it’s the Senate’s turn!
Write to your Senators today! Tell them to pass the For the People Act to defend our democracy and fight back against attempts to suppress the votes of Black and brown communities and marginalized people.
By strengthening our access to the ballot box, we’ll be able to fight for laws that treat working people and communities of color fairly, while holding corporations and powerful special interests accountable to the American people.
This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reform our democracy by expanding and protecting voting rights for all, ending partisan and racial gerrymandering, getting dark money out of politics, and restoring transparency and accountability in our government. And it is especially needed now that state legislatures are intent on making it harder for people to vote.
This legislation will pave the way for real change on issues that we care about. We can start investing in our future and stop handing un-needed breaks to billionaires. Write to your Senators today >>>
Thank you for all that you do for the future of our country.
