Yesterday President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan into law.

I am proud to support this historic COVID-19 relief package, which will help Central Virginians recover from the pandemic.

This legislation will increase funding for COVID-19 vaccinations, testing, and contact tracing. It provides support for small businesses and restaurants, which provide so many jobs and services to our communities.

It will also extend unemployment insurance to help the millions of unemployed Americans get by. It increases the child tax credit to help families and lift an estimated 85,000 children out of poverty in Virginia alone. And it will deliver direct stimulus payments to millions of Virginians.

From talking to people across Central Virginia, I know that the American Rescue Plan is going to make a difference for those who are most in need.

However, I know many people are still struggling with the impacts of the pandemic. Advocating for the needs of Central Virginia families will always be my greatest priority. I know we can get through this together.
