If you're a DSA Member in good standing, WE NEED YOU to Register for and attend our Local Convention, which is TOMORROW, Saturday March 13th from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM and is entirely digital!

If you only attend one meeting a year, you should attend this one. If we don't have a quorum--that is, a decent percentage of our active members present-- we can’t actually enact any changes we vote on. SDSA has about 2,000 active members, and a quorum is 10% of that - 200 people. We’re almost there, and if we can get another 20 people registered and in attendance we’ll be in (democratic, socialist) business.

While we love seeing your smiling faces, you only need to register and get in that Zoom to vote - you can stay on mute and no-camera the whole time if you like. (Imagine: a convention you can attend in your jammies! Voting on things while also inhaling a carton of ice cream! Nobody can judge you, nor should they!)

If you’re wondering when your attention will be most needed, the Convention Agenda is available for your perusal here. We will be discussing and voting on bylaws changes and electing our new Local Council, and that’s pretty much it.

Remember, if we don’t get a quorum we have to do all this again in like a month! And that means more emails about Convention! If you’re tired of elections, this is one way of making it go away (for another year, at least.)

Comrades, This event is the duration of a child’s birthday party. If you’ve got time to pin the tail on the donkey, why not come through and have your say on who runs DSA this year?
