Hi John,
You may be wondering what a bridge painter from Honduras and a housekeeper from Haiti have in common. The answer is that we are both proud union members who have been on the front lines in the fight for worker rights and racial justice. Today, we are asking you to take action.
Congress is considering legislation that would finally provide a path to citizenship for millions of working people like us who help to build, feed, serve, educate and care for our nation. The American Dream and Promise Act will protect long-term members of our communities and our unions, and help promote a more just recovery from this pandemic.
Call Congress and tell your representative to give working families the permanent protections we deserve by passing H.R. 6, the American Dream and Promise Act, immediately. |

Our entire workforce benefits when people are able to live and work without fear. We have taken our demands to the White House and to the courts, but only Congress can grant the permanent protections our families need. Now is the time for them to act.
By reaffirming its milestone vote on H.R. 6, the House can help build momentum for broader immigration reforms that are long overdue. Our unions continue to push for a broad path to citizenship for all the millions of people whose labor helps our country prosper. This bill will take a necessary step toward that goal by extending permanent protections to Dreamers and temporary protected status recipients like us.
Passage of H.R. 6 will help to raise wages and labor standards in our country and protect the freedom of all workers to join together in a union without fear. We ask you to stand up for us today so we can keep fighting together to advance our Workers First Agenda.
