I have some very good news to share:
Yesterday, The House of Representatives passed legislation expanding background checks on gun purchases.
This legislation would eliminate dangerous gaps in existing law, including the infamous gun show loophole, and extend the background check review period from three days to 10.
John xxxxxx, this is not the last step we can or will take to end gun violence in America. But it is an important one that will save countless lives. And with your support, House Democrats stood together to get this done.
Now, this legislation moves to the Senate, where we can’t afford to lose a single Democratic vote if we’re going to finally make this bill law.
Will you add your name next to mine to call on every Democratic Senator to stand together and support expanding background checks to eliminate dangerous gaps like the gun show loophole?

To purchase a gun in America, you should have to pass a background check. Period.
But for too long we’ve let special interests like the National Rifle Association dictate laws around public safety in America.
We can beat the NRA and expand background checks to keep guns out of the wrong hands. But we need every Democrat to stick together.
Join me in calling on Democratic Senators to stand united against gun violence by voting to expand background checks. Let’s get this done >>

Thank you for speaking up and showing where you stand.
Keep the faith,
