President Biden just signed the American Rescue Plan into law after Democrats united to introduce and craft this comprehensive COVID-19 relief bill, and then shepherd it through the House and Senate. Help is finally here for the American people.

Help that will lead to assistance for individuals and families, that will reinforce the battle against COVID-19 with a comprehensive vaccination plan, and that will direct desperately needed funds to state and local governments where layoffs and critical local services have been a dangerous risk.

It was my honor to act swiftly and decisively in support of this legislation, and to see it become law.

Make no mistake: Not one GOP lawmaker voted for this bill. Despite the fact that some members are now "accepting thanks" for the relief that is going to their constituents, not one of them stood up for the citizens they were elected to represent – not to mention for the American people as a whole. Relief for our families and communities is only possible because people like you stepped up in the 2020 elections to win both chambers of Congress and the White House for Democrats. Moments like this prove just how much our elections really do matter.

Now, we have an incredible opportunity to make progress on the issues that the GOP-led Congress had refused to act on for years – issues like preventing gun violence. The House just passed universal background checks to keep guns out of dangerous hands, and as a co-sponsor of the Senate's corresponding measure, the time has come to make sure this commonsense bill becomes law.

But there's no shortage of urgent issues facing our country right now – that's for sure. So I want to make sure you are at the very center of my priorities in the Senate. And to do that, I need to hear from you directly:
