We are on the brink of historic action to address the gun violence epidemic. Yesterday, a bipartisan majority of representatives approved two lifesaving bills to expand background checks!

This is HUGE progress worth celebrating. But, as you know, the fight is far from over. This legislation still has to be passed through the Senate where the margin is slim. We have to keep the pressure on to make sure the Senate knows Americans need more than thoughts and prayers. Can you make an urgent $8 donation today to help us get HR 8 over the finish line?

More than 90 percent of Americans support expanding background checks, John. This policy has more public support than the recently-passed COVID-19 relief plan. The Senate has NO excuse for not passing this legislation.

Two years ago, the House took similar action, passing another bipartisan background check bill. But that legislation languished on Mitch McConnell’s desk.

Since the last time the House voted to expand background checks, nearly 80,000 Americans have been shot and killed. We cannot let the same thing happen again. Please, fund our fight to hold the Senate accountable and expand background checks once and for all.
