Governor DeWine Appoints Russo to Franklin County Municipal Court?
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)?Ohio Governor Mike DeWine today announced the appointment of Gina Russo to the Franklin County Municipal Court.
Russo, of Columbus, will assume office on March 22, 2021, and will be replacing Judge Paul Herbert, who has retired. Russo?s appointed term to the Franklin County Municipal Court will expire on January 3, 2022. She will need to run for election in November 2021 for a full term commencing on January 4, 2022.
Russo served as Judge for the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas from March 2019 to December 2020. In this role, she managed and presided over trials involving civil matters and felony criminal indictments. Previously, Russo served as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney at the Franklin County Prosecutor?s Office for seven years.
Russo has additional experience in the private sector, where she worked at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP for more than 10 years, managing all aspects of civil litigation.
Russo holds a Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Law.? She earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Bowling Green State University.
Russo is an active member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Ohio Women?s Bar Association, and Columbus Bar Association.?
