Israel faces ICC investigation over war crimes against
Palestinians
The International Criminal Court has recently decided to
officially investigate war crimes in Gaza. After years of non-member
status at the United Nations, the Palestinian territories successfully
petitioned for signatory status with the ICC allowing Palestinian
Authority officials to file an official complaint against Israel as a
last resort in pursuit of accountability. The scope of the probe is
expected to cover allegations of Israeli war crimes in Gaza during the
2014 war, the 2018 Great March of Return clashes, as well as the
question of whether or not Hamas rocket fire constitutes war crimes.
During the 2014 Gaza war alone, over 2,000 Palestinians were killed.
Hundreds of other Palestinian protestors and medics were shot, maimed,
and attacked during the 2018 border clashes. Apart from the
investigation into war crimes, the probe aims to address widespread
illegal Israeli settlement of occupied Palestinian territory in the
West Bank. This critical investigation by the ICC into the illegal
annexation of Palestinian land marks a new avenue for justice in the
pursuit of accountability outside of US-Israeli dominated
international institutions that have long undermined Palestinian
grievances.

U.S. military occupation continues “war games” against North
Korea
As the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK, or North
Korea) celebrated the 111th anniversary of International Women’s Day
on March 08, the annual “war games” held jointly by the U.S. and South
Korean armed forces--the latter of which are under the command of the
U.S. except “in times of peace”--began. What the U.S. calls “war
games” are in reality what the DPRK calls them: war rehearsals. The
DPRK has reasonably called the games a form of “psychological
warfare.”

Top Pentagon commander requests
astronomical sum of money to prepare for war with China
The commander of U.S. military forces in the Pacific region
submitted a request to Congress March 1 for $27.3 billion in new
anti-China spending. Admiral Philip Davidson, who can fairly be termed
an anti-China fanatic, leads the Indo-Pacific Command made up of
380,000 military and civilian personnel and a vast array of air, land
and sea weaponry. It is the largest of the 11 commands that span the
globe and outer space — the enforcers of the most far-flung empire in
history. The funding increase that
Davidson is seeking for his command — not the total allocation — is
greater than the entire budget of the whole armed forces of
Brazil.

Indianapolis report confirms that cops, not protestors, started
the riots in summer 2020 protests
On February 23, an independent review panel submitted
their report on the Indianapolis
Metropolitan Police Department’s response to the anti-racist uprisings
between May 29 and June 1, 2020. The report confirmed key facts that
protest organizers have been saying since that weekend: that IMPD used
tear gas on peaceful protesters, including children, before any
property damage occurred; that IMPD arbitrarily declared peaceful and
lawful assemblies “unlawful” to break them up.
