The Class Action Lawsuit Against Pornhub and MindGeek, Explained

MindGeek, the corporate entity behind Pornhub and other exploitative sites, has been hit with a United States-based class action lawsuit brought by the National Center on Sexual Exploitation Law Center, and an accomplished assembly of survivor-focused and commercial litigation law firms, on behalf of survivors of child sex trafficking.

Videos and images of these survivors—child sexual abuse material—were distributed via and monetized on multiple MindGeek products, including but not limited to Pornhub.

"Downvote" Reddit for Rampant Sexploitation

Reddit was named to the 2021 Dirty Dozen List for creating a "hub of exploitation."

It is one of the only mainstream social media platforms that still allows pornography (along with Twitter), while others such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Tumblr, TikTok, and Snapchat have banned pornography and even nudity.

Despite the well-documented sexual exploitation on its platform, Reddit hasn't made any significant effort to stem the harmful and abusive content on its site.

This is a bipartisan, two-chamber bill to address the ongoing crisis in Victims of Crime Act funding. 

The Victim of Crime Act’s (VOCA) Crime Victims Fund (CVF) is the main source of federal funding for programs providing services for victims of all types of crimes, including children advocacy centers, rape crisis centers, and domestic violence shelters serving millions across the nation.

VOCA is also the only source of federal funding for victim compensation grants. These funds will be depleted unless Congress acts now!
