CNN: “Biden signs historic $1.9 trillion Covid-19 relief law”
This is huge: after I joined my colleagues in the House in passing the American Rescue Plan, President Biden took a major step toward healing our country and building back our economy by signing this major COVID-19 relief plan into law.
A crisis of this magnitude demands bold solutions and the American Rescue Plan delivers.
This is only the beginning. If you can, chip in today to ensure our Democraitc House Majority can continue delivering for the American people in the future >>

This bill puts money in Americans’ pockets and lays the groundwork for crushing the pandemic and for recovery:
- Sends $1,400 stimulus checks to Americans across the country
- Strengthens vaccine distribution
- Expands the child tax credit, cutting child poverty by nearly half
- Sends crucial resources to schools, small businesses, and veterans
- Extends unemployment benefits
- Provides rental and food assistance
The bill also includes $350 billion in aid for state and local governments that, as a former Baltimore County Executive, I know will be critical for helping communities weather the economic storm brought on by the pandemic, keep essential workers on the job, and ensure smooth deployment of the vaccine.
House Democrats are only getting started. Chip in now to support and strengthen our fight in Congress >>
There’s something else that is striking about this massive bill: Not a single Republican in Washington voted for it -- even though the bill has wide bipartisan public support from 75% of registered voters.
These are the same Washington Republicans who, during the Trump Administration, pushed for a $2 trillion tax cut for corporations and the wealthiest in our country.
Our priorities couldn’t be any more different: Washington Republicans are focused on the top 1%. My Democratic colleagues and I are focused on working families.
But there’s a potential problem standing in the way of progress -- Washington Republicans are already taking aim at House Democrats like me in their battle to take back the House Majority and put a stop to our agenda for the people.
We need to start building up our grassroots organization right now to fight off any incoming GOP attacks and to ensure the House Democratic Majority can continue delivering for the American people. And for that, I’m counting on the participation of supporters like you. If you can, please consider chipping in a few dollars today.
