ALL POLITICS ARE LOCAL

Another LGBTQ endorsement for Victor Reyes in his race for New Mexico’s first Congressional District: LGBTQ state Representative Roger Montoya is standing with him!

It’s official: Danica Roem is back on the ballot and in the running for Virginia House District 13  – and she has a challenger. She joined Pod Save America to talk about her race and the slate of anti-trans legislation sweeping the country.

Congratulations are in order for Craig Hickman, who just won his race for the Maine state Senate! Senator-elect Hickman made history as the first Black man elected to both chambers of the Maine legislature.

Molly Cowan, our candidate for the Exeter (NH) Select Board, won her reelection campaign! Congratulations, Molly!

Greg Yorgey-Girdy, running for Philadelphia Municipal Court, submitted his ballot signatures. He and his team collected over 3,000 names!

Congratulations are also in order for Victory Fund Board Member Michael Fuller, who was just voted to be the new treasurer of the Allen County (IN) Democrats!

BAY STATE BIPHOBIA

Bryan Barash is running for the Newton City Council as an out and proud bisexual candidate – and that’s bothering some political players in the city.

Luckily, Bryan has a lot of great people standing with him, including the Bay State Stonewall Democrats, Attorney General Maura Healey, Joe Kennedy, State Senator Becca Rausch and the Newton Teachers Association. The Newton community also showed their support!.

NEWS TO WATCH

As anti-trans violence surges and Mississippi’s governor signs a bill attacking trans kids, our trans state legislators are speaking out against the hate. Read remarks from Danica Roem, Brianna Titone of Colorado, Stephanie Byers of Kansas, Gerri Cannon of New Hampshire and Taylor Small of Vermont.

Vice President of Political Programs Sean Meloy joined Amber LeMay to discuss LGBTQ rights in Pennsylvania. Watch their full talk here!
