Take the latest survey on bringing Metra to Kendall County
Take the Kendall Extension Survey by March 24
The Kendall Extension Study has been studying the feasibility of extending the BNSF commuter rail line beyond its existing end of line station in Aurora, and is examining new outlying yard locations and new commuter rail stations at Montgomery, Oswego, Yorkville, Plano and Sandwich.
This study is conducting an analysis of station site options and designs, potential environmental impacts, projected ridership, conceptual station and infrastructure designs, costs, funding options. The results of the study will provide information to local governments in Kendall County, including Oswego, so we can make decisions about how to proceed in bringing the line to the county.
On March 10, Metra presented preliminary results of the study at a virtual open house. You can view the information presented at the open house, including slides about stations, environmental impacts, and more at www.metrarail.com/kendallextension.
As a resident, you can help by taking a survey. This survey is different from past surveys you may have received about Metra service, and takes about five minutes to complete.
