On the 56th anniversary of "Bloody Sunday" -- the day when civil rights activists like John Lewis were faced with police brutality on the Edmund Pettus Bridge while marching for voting rights -- the Biden-Harris administration signed an executive order directing federal agencies to expand access to voter registration and election information. In remarks, Vice President Harris urged the Senate to pass the For the People act -- citing the surge in voter suppression bills.
We set a goal of raising $50,000 to launch our grassroots advocacy campaign pressuring the Senate to pass the For the People Act -- a bold package of democracy reforms. Can we count on your support?

These steps taken by the Biden-Harris administration are good, and could help to make our democracy more fair -- but we must continue leveling the political playing field. We need to pass comprehensive voter protections, ban partisan gerrymandering, and institute strong government ethic standards. All of these democracy reforms could be implemented if the For the People Act is passed into law.

As Vice President Harris explained, these new state-based attempts to dilute the political power of voters may come in different forms but they are nothing more than modern-day voter suppression. We agree -- that's why we're working to make sure the For the People Act is passed into law.
