The pandemic could force up to 115 million more people into extreme
poverty this year — make a gift to support people living in fragile places
around the world

I’m reaching out one last time tonight to ask: [ [link removed] ]Will you make a gift
before midnight to help people living in fragile places around the world
protect themselves against COVID-19 and other threats?

Your gift today could help Mercy Corps support the global vaccination
effort, as well as provide emergency supplies, food, clean water and
urgently needed assistance to families during this crisis and beyond.

It’s estimated that the pandemic could force up to 115 million more people
into extreme poverty this year — many in countries where too many families
were already struggling with food insecurity and lack of access to
adequate medical care. Our work together has never been more important.

P.S. I am so grateful for the generosity of
supporters like you — especially
over this past year, which has been challenging for everyone. Thank you
for partnering with us during this difficult time, and for helping to
build a better, brighter future.

Despite the uncertainty that we’ve all faced over the past year, Mercy
Corps supporters, partners and the communities we work with have come
together to help protect the world’s most vulnerable people against
COVID-19, meet immediate needs and deal with the devastating economic
impacts of the pandemic, which has pushed millions of people further into
crisis.

Now, with the promise of COVID-19 vaccines, we collectively face the
defining challenge of 2021: Getting the vaccine to everyone, everywhere —
including people who live in refugee camps and hard-to-reach areas.

Transporting and distributing vaccines around the world will create a
massive logistical challenge, but that’s just part of the equation. Mass
vaccination will also require a coordinated, collaborative effort to build
trust in the vaccine and the governments who will provide it, particularly
in areas mired by conflict and chronic poverty.

Mercy Corps has decades of experience building relationships within
communities in over 40 countries. Your gift today could help Mercy Corps
support the global vaccination effort by empowering people with the facts
they need to make informed decisions about protecting their health.

Here are just a few examples of this work in action:

• In Colombia, we have an ongoing social media campaign to provide
accurate information and counter misinformation about COVID-19 and the
vaccines.
• In Nigeria, Mercy Corps is addressing misinformation by recruiting
local "truth champions" who identify and respond to rumors about
COVID-19.
• In Haiti, we’re meeting people where they are — via text or voicemail
— to empower them with the facts they need to make informed decisions
about their health.

We’re committed to providing emergency supplies, food, clean water and
other urgently needed support to families and communities, not only during
this crisis but beyond.

It’s an enormous challenge, and it can only be accomplished when we all
work together.

[ [link removed] ]Be a part of our lifesaving work with your gift today, and help us
reach our $35,000 fundraising goal by midnight tonight.

Sincerely,
