Yesterday, the Protecting the Right to Organize Act, H.R. 842, known as the PRO Act, was passed in the House, and here’s why that is so important.

This past Tuesday was a huge step forward for the labor movement.

The Protecting the Right to Organize Act, H.R. 842, known as the PRO Act, passed in the House with a 225 to 206 vote and will be moving on to the Senate.

Passing this bill in the House shows that Congress recognizes the need to strengthen protections for the working people of this country and their right to organize unions and bargain collectively.

Now, we need the Senate to follow suit. Will you take a moment to send a message to Sens. Casey and Toomey right now urging them to vote YES on the PRO Act to protect the rights of workers to organize?

The PRO Act will strengthen protections in numerous ways for workers who want to unionize, including:

Everyday, National Nurses United is working to strengthen our union as we stand up to corporate greed and advocate on behalf of our patients; create safer working conditions that are needed now more than ever during Covid-19; and demand fair wages to promote a more equitable economy.

Because of union protections, we have been able to expose unconscionable hospital practices that endanger the lives of patients and nurses, win crucial protections for nurses and patients, and put hospitals on notice — and this bill will help us support even more nurses to organize and exercise their workplace rights.

Send a message to Sens. Casey and Toomey urging them to pass this historic legislation that would protect nurses and all workers to use our collective voices in the workplace.

Let’s keep fighting,
