The House has just passed H.R. 1 -- the For the People Act -- which would transform our voting system to a greater exten t th an we've seen in decades.
It creates a national system for voter registration. It will fundamentally change political advertising and campaign spending. It will end partisan gerrymandering. Voting rights champion Stacey Abrams was at the forefront of this bill, pointing out that “with Republican state legislatures rolling back the clock on voting rights,” it is “critical” the For the People Act make it to Joe Biden's desk.
H.R. 1 would demolish the GOP's attempts to suppress the vote and steal back the House and Senate in the 2022 midterms -- which is why they are doing everything they can to stop it.
Unfortunately, they could succeed -- the bill needs 10 GOP votes in the Senate or it's dead on arrival. Mitch McConnell and his crew are trying to get away with killing it quietly, but we can stop them if you speak out NOW.
