For citizens and non-citizens alike, the U.S. has strict COVID-19 policies for those entering the United States legally via air travel.
The Biden administration mandated: “All air passengers coming to the United States, including U.S. citizens, are required to have a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before they board a flight to the United States.”
Yet, a new dangerous executive order creates different, lower COVID standards for people illegally entering the USA at the land border.
This isn’t fair: it’s dangerous and threatens to reverse our progress. This isn’t a political issue: it’s a matter of public health.
According to NBC, after seeking asylum in Brownsville, Texas, over 100 illegal migrants are testing positive for COVID-19, then boarding buses to travel to dozens of cities and states throughout the country.
A spokesperson for the city of Brownsville told NBC “that they do not have the authority to retain these migrants,” despite testing positive for COVID-19.
That’s madness. There could be new strains of coronavirus coming in that spread more rapidly and are more contagious.
