We have an important legislative update from the Washington Senate: in a narrow vote, our senators successfully passed an important bill to speed economic recovery – establishing a capital gains tax.
What this means:
- This is a step forward in rebuilding Washington’s upside-down tax system.
- The tax on huge investment windfalls will raise approximately $500 million a year for critically important childcare and early childhood education programs while providing tax relief for working families.
