Dear John xxxxxx, The Democratic leadership in Congress has suddenly changed tactics, and this puts us in great danger. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi knows that public support for amnesty and increased immigration is plummeting. President Biden has so undercut immigration enforcement in his first seven weeks that there's now a dramatic surge in illegal immigration on our southern border. Even Pres. Biden's allies in the media are beginning to voice questions about his policies. As the New York Times stated in a front-page headline Tuesday, "Children Fill Detention Centers Amid Migration Surge at Border." Maybe that's why Speaker Pelosi and her allies are trying to cram whatever amnesties they can in as quickly as possible? Using a House rule that allows bills passed in the last Congress to move quickly to the floor for votes in the current Congress if they do it by April 1, Democrats are trying to quickly ram two big amnesty bills through. They've tentatively scheduled votes for two huge amnesty bills NEXT WEEK!!! The first bill, H.R. 6, grants amnesty to people who were brought to the U.S. younger than age 19, the so-called "Dreamers." Also, the bill gives green cards (and citizenship) to TPS recipients. The other bill, The Farm Workforce Modernization Act, gives green cards and a path to citizenship to at least a million illegal agricultural workers. Neither bill does anything to address the surge of illegal aliens at the border. (More details later in this letter.) John, I need you to take FOUR ACTIONS NOW to help NumbersUSA hold off disaster.
What a terrible time this is to trigger a run on the border! Coronavirus is starting to fade in the U.S., but it's still going crazy inside detention facilities for illegal aliens. Pres. Biden has cancelled the "Remain in Mexico" policy, so now we have to shelter the aliens. The administration has even "relaxed" occupancy rules that were designed to minimize the spread of coronavirus. After spending just enough time in temporary quarters to catch coronavirus, aliens are being spread across the country to make more room at border facilities for still more illegal aliens. Talk about a super-spreader event! House Speaker Nancy Pelosi seems confident she can pass these bills. Last Congress, the agriculture amnesty passed the House with the support of 34 Republican House members; the DREAM amnesty bill passed in the House with unanimous Democratic support, only failing to get through the then-Republican-led Senate. There is no compromise in these bills. They contain none of the pro-enforcement measures that most Americans like nationwide E-Verify, and nothing to help border security. Polling data very clearly shows Republicans, Independents, and most Democrats strongly favor more enforcement. Instead, President Biden has spent his seven weeks in office putting out the welcome sign for more illegal aliens to come. There has never been a better time to donate. I mean that absolutely sincerely and literally, because this is our biggest fundraising campaign EVER... just when Congress is scheduling votes for phase one of the worst immigration package ever.
Here's what our Content and Activism Chris Chmielenski director writes about these bills in his action alerts of yesterday: "The American Dream and Promise Act would grant amnesty to approximately 2.9 million illegal aliens who claim to have entered the country before reaching the age of 19. Additionally, it would grant a permanent amnesty to another 320,000 foreign citizens who have received temporary relief under Temporary Protected Status (TPS). "The Farm Workforce Modernization Act would grant amnesty to more than 1 million illegal alien farm workers and their family members. It would also create a system of indentured servitude, forcing willing illegal workers into years of agricultural labor in order to receive legal status. Additionally, it would expand the existing agricultural guest worker program to cover jobs in dairy, meat processing, fish canneries, and more." If these pass, the floodgates will be opened: These are parts of Pres. Biden's immigration bill, which he announced on Inauguration Day. That bill would multiply future immigration by 2 1/2 times! What a nightmare! Crippled border security... more-than-doubled legal immigration... millions upon millions more immigrants with citizenship and thereby eligible to bring in their relatives... indentured servitude... and no reason to believe there won't be endless amnesties in the future.
