Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick on why we must pass the Global
HER Act
Last week, Representative Ann Kirkpatrick (D-AZ-2)
wrote a blog post for us outlining why passing the Global HER Act is
so important. She details just how damaging the Trump
administration's iteration of the Global Gag Rule was and makes
the case for repealing it forever by passing this important piece of
legislation. You can read her entire post on our website!

Get the facts: What would a billion more buy?
Today there are an estimated 218 million women in the developing world
who want to prevent pregnancy but have an unmet need for
contraception. Women in the developing world experience 111 million
unintended pregnancies each year. However, U.S. funding for
international family planning remains 30% below the 1995 level when
accounting for inflation.
We're urging the United States to invest $1.74 billion per
year-roughly $1 billion more than current funding levels for
international family planning programs. This figure represents our
fair share of the total cost of satisfying unmet need worldwide and it
would bring enormous returns for people everywhere by leading the way
toward global population stabilization. Learn more about the benefits
of U.S. family planning assistance and how fulfilling unmet need could
have an outsized impact on the lives of people all over the world.
