Hi John,

In the last year, our country has been forced to face some of our toughest challenges and ask some difficult questions. And through it all, I’ve been proud to be part of an organization that works so hard to drive change and inspire people to take action wherever they are.

Today, I’m excited to announce that When We All Vote is joining Civic Nation, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that is home to changemakers who inspire, educate, and activate people around the issues that will define this generation.

Since 2018, When We All Vote has worked to inspire, empower, and initiate change in our country every day by closing the race and age voting gap and changing the culture around voting. And now, we will continue that work as we join the incredible family of initiatives at Civic Nation to work together and create a more inclusive, equitable America.

I’m also honored to announce that Stephanie Young, who many of you know as our Chief Officer for Communications and Culture, will be leading When We All Vote as our new Executive Director. Stephanie is a fierce advocate for voting rights and someone who I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside since our time in the Obama Administration. Stephanie will do a phenomenal job continuing to lead our work to bring together individuals, institutions, brands and organizations to advance civic education and empowering all eligible voters to take action through voting and advocating for their rights.

On a personal note, my years in public service have been about bringing equity and justice to our nation and I am proud to announce that I will be continuing that work as board chair at Civic Nation.

Our work to protect our democracy has never been more urgent. Change often seems impossible until we, the people, make it inevitable -- and I can’t wait to continue this vital work with all of you.
