A year ago today, COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic — and the 364 days that followed posed an unimaginable challenge for families across the country.

Millions of working people lost their jobs, families everywhere were forced to choose between putting food on the table and paying rent, and tragically, more than 500,000 Americans lost their lives.

But through it all, working families, neighbors, essential and frontline workers, and so many others showed incredible strength and compassion by coming together and lending a hand — even while we were physically apart.

Every single day, folks like you have shown that we have what it takes to get through this. And I know we will, so long as we continue to reach out and help those who need it most.
