[1]Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for Congress

We have good news.

The official campaign arm of House Democrats (the DCCC) announced that
they will officially end a policy blacklisting anyone who works on a
primary challenger’s campaign.

You may remember that in 2019 after Alexandria’s upset victory, the DCCC
announced they would blacklist vendors and experts who worked with
candidates that primaried incumbents – a policy that made it much harder
for progressive challengers and working-class candidates of color from
outside the D.C. bubble to get the resources, staff, and tools they need
to be competitive.

Alexandria spoke out against the ban from the outset, and yesterday it was
announced that the policy is officially ended. She called this an
“enormous win” that opens the door to leverage strength from every corner
of the party and gives voters a choice on who they want to represent their
communities.

[ [link removed] ]We have a new opening for progressive challengers, but we need the
resources to give them a fighting chance. Will you chip in
$6 to help us
support more candidates in 2022 and elect the next generation of
progressives to Congress?

With this policy gone, progressive challengers can work with the
grassroots organizing firms and partners they choose including newer
vendors from outside the D.C. establishment with more diverse, grassroots
backgrounds. But they need resources to hire staff and build their
campaigns.

Alexandria knows firsthand how difficult it is for working-class
candidates to get their campaigns off the ground – and that’s why we need
your help.

There will be many contentious primaries in the 2022 cycle and we must
start preparing now. In addition, redistricting will almost certainly
place members and candidates in new territory that could make them more
vulnerable.

[ [link removed] ]Our movement has helped challengers like Jamaal Bowman break through
the establishment firewall — can you chip in $6 to help
elect more progressive champions?

Primary challengers help us build a stronger party that is more durable
and representative of constituents. With your help, we can provide the
biggest possible support system for progressive candidates in 2022.

Thanks for stepping up.

Team AOC
