Unions helped build the middle class. There are hundreds of thousands of union workers in Maryland and tens of millions of union workers across our country. They make essential and meaningful contributions to our communities and our economy.
I stand in solidarity with all workers and their right to organize and join a union. That’s why earlier this week, I took action and voted to pass the PRO Act, a measure I cosponsored that would strengthen workers’ collective bargaining rights for the first time in more than 80 years.
If you stand in solidarity with workers and their right to join a union, too, add your name to mine today.
The PRO Act would ensure workers have the tools to empower themselves in their workplaces and negotiate for stronger wages, better benefits, and safer conditions by:
- Protecting workers from anti-union intimidation and retaliations
- Ensuring workers can hold free and fair union elections
- Holding employers accountable for violating workers’ collective bargaining rights
If we’re going to build back our economy stronger and more equitably than before, we first and foremost need to protect unions and workers’ right to organize. Please add your name and join me in standing with workers everywhere.
Your friend,
Dutch
