Dear John, [link removed] [[link removed]]
We are just weeks into the 87th Texas Legislative Session and it’s already shaping up to be unlike anything we’ve seen before.
Simply put, the failed leadership of Gov. Greg Abbott and Lt. Gov Dan Patrick is putting the lives of Texans at risk.
The far-right politicians who control the state Capitol are focused on pressing forward with a divisive, extremist political agenda even as they continue to mismanage our state’s response to the COVID crisis and point fingers at everyone but themselves for a disastrously deregulated power grid that left millions of Texans shivering – some dying – in the dark last month.
HB3, which the House State Affairs Committee just announced they will be considering on Thursday, is a prime example of this misguided state leadership. Under the guise of “pandemic relief management,” HB3 would restrict the ability of local officials to issue public health orders to protect their communities or to make voting easier in a crisis.
Luckily, TFN has a proven track record of fighting back against this kind of reckless agenda. Our full political team is already running at full speed, organizing on all fronts to push back and speak up for the issues that matter most. But we need your help to fuel this effort [[link removed]] . [[link removed]]
That’s why, as we gear up for the challenging months ahead, TFN has launched a Rapid Response Fund to ensure that we have critical resources on hand to fight back at a moment’s notice with everything we have.
Activists like you have always been a critical member of our movement. Today, I'm asking you to consider taking your support to the next level by making a recurring gift to TFN’s Rapid Response Fund. We need you standing by our side through this critical legislative session and beyond.
