Dear John,
The Equality Act — a bill that would provide clear and consistent nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ people at the federal level — has passed the U.S. House of Representatives and is now under consideration in the Senate. We are on the precipice of enshrining equality into law, but only if we all do our part to make sure our Senators hear from us!
Will you contact your Senator NOW and urge them to vote YES on the Equality Act? You can easily click the link to take action below.

As a steadfast advocate in our work to advance LGBTQ equality, you know how much we need the Equality Act and the protections it would enshrine in our nation’s laws.
The bill would add sexual orientation and gender identity as protected characteristics to existing civil rights law — providing permanent protections under federal law for all Americans in vital areas of our lives: housing, access to public spaces, credit, education, jury service, and federally-funded programs.
It would also add sex nondiscrimination protections to public spaces and services, as well as federally-funded programs, and modernize the public spaces and services covered in current law — strengthening protections for all people, including women, people of faith, and people of color.
We have a lot of work ahead of us to make the Equality Act the law of the land but, together, we can have a real impact, and we will need your help and engagement every step of the way.
The Equality Act enjoys broad support: an overwhelming majority of Americans, hundreds of members of Congress, and an unprecedented 360+ major businesses. But this groundswell of support means little if we don’t tell our Senators today to vote YES when it’s up for consideration.
