Dear Friend,
Next week, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on the American Dream and Promise Act (HR6). If passed, would allow anyone who qualified for Temporary Protective Status (TPS) before Jan 1st, 2017 to apply for permanent residency, including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) holders.

More than 400,000 TPS holders and their families have lived through the consequences of mere temporary solutions to critical immigration issues. TPS holders are essential workers, they are parents with U.S. citizen children, they are small business owners, and most importantly, Americans with every right to this country. Currently, on our pending lawsuits, Ramos/Bhattarai v Nielsen, are the only thing protecting TPS holders. We will no longer accept anything less than permanent protections for our people.
We need you to do the following before next Wednesday:
|
1. Sign the petition here that will send an email directly to your elected (based on your address): http://bit.ly/TPS2Residency
2. Follow up and call your state’s Senators and Representative. Here's a short video tutorial in Nepali on how to call your elected officials
3. Share, share and share the petition!! [http://bit.ly/TPS2Residency]

Now is the time to demand that Congress pass legislation to ensure permanent protections for the hardworking families and individuals that have supported this country through their economic and social contributions.
Donate to Adhikaar today. Your investment will allow us to continue building power for the immigrant community for generations to come.
