No one — especially our children — should have to live in fear of being a victim in the next mass shooting. Gun violence is a preventable epidemic and it’s past time we do something about it.

After suffering too many devastating mass shootings, Colorado rose to the occasion and passed legislation to expand background checks in 2012. Now, it's time for Washington, D.C. to follow suit.
