Yesterday, I was proud to support the American Rescue Plan, a historic COVID relief package that we passed in the House of Representatives and President Biden just signed into law.

For the past year, my top priority in Congress has been to get Lehigh Valley families and small businesses the support they need to get through the pandemic.

The legislation we passed will provide support to hundreds of millions of Americans in a variety of ways. Here are a few of the key provisions:

• Extended supplemented unemployment benefits that were set to expire this month;


• Direct stimulus payments to many Americans who are in need;


• Funding of faster vaccine rollout at more sites in our communities;


• Expansion of the child tax credit to help parents and lift so many children out of poverty; and


• Grants to small businesses, including restaurants, which have been so badly affected by this pandemic.

I’m proud of the work I did with my colleagues in Congress to pass this important legislation, which will immediately help American families. And I will continue to do all I can to help get us through the pandemic.
