Governor Frank Keating at OCPAC | URGENT: CALL LEGISLATORS | Last Moments with RUSH Published Monday, March 8, 2021 AT NOON WEDNESDAY Central Oklahoma Home Builders GOVERNOR FRANK KEATING During his tenure as Oklahoma Governor, Frank Keating pushed for academic rigor in math, science, English, and history. He advocated and got passed public school choice and the first charter school law. All with a Democrat Legislature. At a time when Democrats controlled both chambers under the dome, he was able to use the power of the bully pulpit to change Oklahoma from the Grapes of Wrath state (a state where people are from) to one which now sees a steady migration of Californians and New Yorkers. This is according to the Migration Data Tables of the IRS. They've brought nearly a billion dollars with them. When he became Governor, Oklahoma ranked 45th in per capita income. It pasted seven other states on its way to 38th by the time he left. As Governor, he completed the dome on the Oklahoma capitol by raising private donations. Frank Keating serves on the board of regents at the University of Oklahoma. He is your voice of reason there. We need to petition the Governor to appoint more like him! He is an Oklahoma treasure! ____________________ ALSO THIS WEDNESDAY SENATOR DAVID BULLARD Senator David Bullard has authored legislation to reverse the drift toward the far-left agenda in Oklahoma's higher education. BOB LINN HB2673 A Future for the Children and their Teachers Former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating and I are going to need a lot of your help this week if we are to crack the stranglehold which currently holds our children’s educational funding out of the reach of parental authority. There are action points below. Dr. Angelo Codevilla is a former advisor to the U.S. Senate intelligence committee and writes and speaks on a wide range of political topics internationally. In his book, Character of Nations, he states: During the twentieth century, almost every government on the planet has tried to substitute itself for parents in some way and have hollowed out the authority of countless parents … The state, not the parent, has become the ultimate authority. It is not, of course, because our governments love our children so much that they want to “help.” The prolific author, Samuel Blumenfeld, said: The plan to dumb down America was launched in 1898 by socialist John Dewey, outlined in an essay titled, ‘The Primary-Education Fetich.’ In it he showed his fellow progressives how to transform America into a collectivist utopia by taking over the public schools and destroying the literacy of millions of Americans. The plan has been so successfully implemented that it is now a fact that half of America’s adult population are functionally illiterate. They can’t read their nation’s Constitution or its Declaration of Independence. They can’t even read their high school diploma. Almost 100 years ago, H.L. Mencken stated that the aim of public education is ‘to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality.’” The education bureaucracy had been particularly hard on America's poor. The dust jacket of Crimes of the Educators tells us: Samuel L. Blumenfeld is an octogenarian maverick who has spent forty years discovering why US public schools have produced millions of functional illiterates, impaired the brains of countless young Americans, created a black underclass, and are incapable of achieving academic competitiveness above that of South Korea, Singapore, Japan, and even Slovia. HB 2673 helps not only the “black underclass” the education establishment has created, but also the heavy Latino population in those schools. And, the bill does more than return the children to the authority of the parent. It opens doors of opportunity for Christian teachers who would prefer to teach in a Christian school. An opportunity virtually denied by the government’s educational strategy which limits opportunities almost exclusively to the secularist government schools. HB 2673 represents a beginning which would afford those Christian teachers an environment more suitable to them. The importance of a Christian education to the nation was articulated by Thomas Jefferson. A concept foundational to our children’s future, but a concept which would not be allowed today in the secular curriculum government schools employ. Jefferson asked: Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God; that they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Secular education is becoming increasingly oppressive to America’s Christian families. You may have heard about young William Clark who was given failing grades and told he would not be allowed to graduate because he would not repeat the government school’s politically correct concepts of sexuality and race. He and his mother are now suing the Nevada school. Attorneys for the family filed a lawsuit against the school and its personnel late last December. The complaint reads, in part, that teachers and administrators: Repeatedly compelled his speech involving intimate matters of race, gender, sexuality, and religion. Defendants compelled Plaintiff William Clark to make professions about his racial, gender, and religious identities in verbal class exercises and in graded, written homework assignments which were subject to the scrutiny, interrogation, and derogatory labelling of students, teachers, and administrators. Defendants were and are coercing him to accept and affirm politicized and discriminatory principles and statements that he cannot in good conscience affirm. Defendants repeatedly threatened William Clark with material harm including a failing grade and non-graduation if he did not comply. This Nevada case is not isolated. I have received multiple reports from Oklahoma's educators, government officials, parents, and news briefings of similar situations in our Oklahoma schools. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn endured a Soviet tyranny of thought police who, like the Nevada government schools, developed a specialized language Orwell warned us about in his 1984 novel. These are the thought crimes composed of governmental heresies which carried the weight of a court conviction on the weight of a simple accusation. As was the case for William Clark in his government school in Nevada. Solzhenitsyn's final words to the Russian people: “Don’t live by lies!” English intellectual, Sir Roger Scruton, commenting on the nature of the opposition, said the battle is not political, but religious. Our opponents enforce their policies through witch-hunting and scapegoating. He said, for this purpose, there were thoughtcrimes invented every now and then with which to trap the enemy of the people …in my day, it was the ‘Zionist Imperialist Conspiracy.’ You could be accused of being a member of that, and nobody could possibly find a defense against the accusation because nobody knew what it was! It’s just like ‘homophobia’ or ‘islamophobia,’ these new thoughtcrimes … what on earth do they mean?” Angelo Codevella goes on to warn Americans: Communist governments put religion under ministries whose purpose was to banish it from public life first, then from private life as well. I'll see you this Wednesday! Phone calls are needed to untangle our education funds & our children from governmental authority. [email protected] LAST WEEK Senator Nathan Dahm was informative and inspirational. He has authored more bills than anyone in this session. All were designed to secure your liberty and rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Bill Price articulated the case for educational choice with the persuasion great courtroom lawyers are known for. Charlie Meadows, Bryan Armstrong, and Representative Jim Olsen added a great deal of additional color. As usual, it was a great meeting. Listen to it here. DR. JOSEPH ARMINIO Public School Boards and National Greatness Joseph Arminio received the doctorate in Political Science from MIT. He ran for the US House in the 2008 Republican Primary in Maryland. He founded Statesman Debate Institute, which is based in Delaware, and is the Institute's Senior Instructor. _____________________________________ Public school boards control the destiny of America. To be exact, they oversee the K-12 education of about 90% of all our youth. This oversight includes the selection of textbooks that all public-school students use. The hiring of teachers and administrators is also something that school boards do or heavily influence. They pass on the institutional memory that made America great. A well-run school board could, therefore, pass on the institutional memory of what made America great. Also, it could play a decisive role in molding responsible citizens and leaders. A member of a School Board is, in an important sense, like a Congressman. Only this is a Congressman whose principal purview is the future. To become a member of a public school board, you must be elected and must reside in the relevant school district. Unless someone is running unopposed, those who would sit on a School Board must campaign. The typical School Board represents about 25,000 citizens. (A few, such as in Oklahoma, represent as many as 50,000 or as little as 100 citizens.) This typical scale of representation happens to approximate to the historical scale of a Congressional District! JAMES MADISON James Madison, heralded as the father of the Constitution, thought that the proper size of a Congressional District should be 30,000 citizens. In fact, the earliest Districts were set by law as numbering no more than 33,000 citizens. A typical School Board wields immense power in the present. Its members are powerful legislators, typically overseeing a budget on the order of $50 Million. Its members also wield immense power over the past. They determine most of what youth learn about the past, especially our nation’s and our civilization’s past. Those who control the present also control the past and, hence, the future. It follows that School Boards wield immense power vis-à-vis the future. Indeed, George Orwell ominously concluded that those who control the present control the past and therefore also control the future. Because School Boards control what is taught our youth about the past, they heavily influence the future of American government. Anyone can see that the Republic is at risk as it has never been before. Much of the blame must therefore be laid at the feet of earlier School Boards. Are present-day School Boards instituting the necessary teaching reforms? Most school-board members put in long hours and are well intentioned. There is much to thank them for. However, it is doubtful that most of them are instituting anything approaching the necessary reforms. There is also this other tremendous opportunity that the School-Board community seems to be missing. When they run for the Board and when they sit on a Board, they should go out of their way to educate their adult constituency about present public policy and about the connection between school curricula and future policy. Anyone vying to sit on a Board or who is now on a Board, should embrace their full role—as, in an important sense, tantamount to being a Congressional candidate or a Congressman. There are presently upwards of 13,500 School Districts in the United States. School Boards whose work ultimately weighs heavy upon not only local but also state and even federal public policies. Yet, we think of a School Board position as being a “local” elective office, when, in effect, it is not only that but also a national office. What is more, here is a national (legislative) office that more or less adheres to the Founding Fathers’ model and vision—in terms of the scale of representation. Meanwhile, an actual Congressman typically represents 770,000 citizens or 25 times more citizens than Madison, et al, intended! No wonder a great many Congressmen are “out of touch”! School Boards are the ultimate “low hanging fruit” of all US politics. It is far, far easier to be heard on all—local, state and national—issues through one’s School Board, than through one’s representative in Congress. Imagine the good that could be done if a truly conservative or “comprehensively” conservative grass roots effort were made at the School-Board level! Most Americans, even at this late hour, will respond to reason. School-Board campaigns are just the right size to reach most reasonable Americans and to “reason together,” as Isaiah taught us. They certainly are winnable; only somewhere between 2 and 10% of eligible voters cast their votes for School Board. One good thing will then lead to another. School boards can pressure present and future Congressmen. Well-run School-Boards could band together and bring significant, healthy pressure to bear upon their common Congressman and upon those who would replace that particular Congressman. Where to launch the proper School-Board reform? I pray that Oklahoma--the place on earth where common sense and love of God and country is strongest—will take up the mantle! ~Joseph Arminio __________________________________ Joseph Arminio received the doctorate in Political Science from MIT. LAST MOMENTS WITH RUSH As told by Kathryn Limbaugh Rush was buried last Wednesday on a bright, sunny day in St. Louis, Missouri. The picturesque cemetery, called Bellefontaine, features historic statues, winding hills, pathways, and large trees to give it the feel of Arlington and many other historic cemeteries around the world. Recently, Kathryn Limbaugh talked about a conversation she and Rush had last October about his funeral. She said, in part: We were walking around our house and talking briefly about his upcoming “event.” We used the word “event” because that was a little bit more fun than the other. We planned this through all of last year knowing that, at some point, the day would come. I told him all he has to do is show up. Rush said, “Yeah, and it is an event, and it’s awesome! I mean, I hope you get invited to it … Sorry I’m gonna miss it.” Kathryn told him he’d have a front row seat. Taking about their intent for a beautiful ceremony, she told Rush, “You are just shy of a president, and presidents get this kind of treatment.” Katheryn said that the funeral that was very worthy of him. I have edited her review of the funeral, but the following is essentially Kathryn’s description: We concentrated a lot on tradition and ceremony at every turn. Once we got to the cemetery, there was a horse-drawn carriage waiting for him. It was simply stunning. You could hear the clacking of the horse hooves and the singing of the birds as we walked through the cemetery following behind Rush. It was peaceful and beautiful. We followed behind the horse-drawn carriage until we reached the cemetery’s chapel for a small service. Rush was escorted into the chapel to his favorite version of The Battle Hymn of the Republic. It was perfectly fitting and absolutely beautiful. We then followed behind Rush in the carriage leading to the burial site. It was stunning. We looked forward through a winding road to see this beautiful carriage with Rush in it and then flags around his gravesite. As we approached the gravesite, you could see these powerful American flags waving in the wind and the sun was shining directly on that spot. It couldn’t have been more fitting. Rush was escorted to his final resting place. We prayed around Rush, and we also played some of his favorite music, such as America the Beautiful by Ray Charles, and also a musical version of the Irish Blessing, which we knew Rush loved. It was absolutely stunning with a beautiful oak tree overhead, the sun shining directly on Rush. Very patriotic and very worthy of him. JOHN BENNETT Candidate for Chairman of the Oklahoma Republican Party Bennett's Blog Edited by Bob Linn Patriots- it is time to rise up and save the Republic! Our local, county, State, and Federal governments represent the keys to rebuilding our civilization. We must start at the local level by recruiting, supporting and holding accountable, Christ-centered candidates and officials. Start at the City Council, the local school boards, county wide offices and statewide elected officials first. We can’t make changes at the federal level until we fix the foundation of our government at the local level. Once we fortify our State then we can carry the momentum into the federal government. We do this, we become the shining city on a hill that will be a beacon of light and hope for an evil world that so desperately needs it. THAT REQUEST REMAINS LARGELY UNFULFILLED I am now asking for details involving their claims to "billable hours" and the way in which our request presents excessive disruptions to their essential functions. A couple of weeks ago, I mailed a request for information and included a 64 GB memory stick with a postage paid return envelope. At 100 Mbps download speed, a speed recommended for families, the time to fill the 64 GB memory stick I delivered would be an hour and a half. At 1000 Mbps, it is a 9 minute download. Just as I have yet to be granted access to the department's public information, I have no idea the internal capacities of their computers. Thinking their truncated office hours may hamper their capacity to churn out work, I sent another request last week with an offer to provide the technical assistance their office required to execute the download. I also offered to do the downloading for them. NO RESPONSE HAVE YOU FILED AN ORR? Please contact me with your experience attempting to obtain a response to an ORR from SA&I. PRIOR WEEK ENTRIES of Continued Importance ENEMIES WITHIN THE CHURCH By Bob Linn Pastor Cary Gordon narrates this soon-to-be-released film exposing the Marxist infiltration into America's churches, seminaries, and Christian missionary movements. Those involved in the film include Trevor Loudon and Curtis Bowers. This film exposes shocking developments throughout the entire breadth of 21st century Christendom. Protestants, Catholics, and the Orthodox church have been infiltrated. Our beloved evangelistic organizations have seen wolves in sheep's clothing rise to the very top. The head of the Russian Orthodox church is a KGB agent. The Pope is a Marxist. The evangelical church has been deeply penetrated. That penetration goes to the very top of institutions we thought were rock solid. This includes the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), the Southern Baptist Church, the former Campus Crusade for Christ (now, CRU), and many others. The evidence is iron clad. I was on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ and worked with founder and President, Dr. Bill Bright. Sadly, I have been made aware that Marxist concepts have become pervasive at their national conferences over the past few years. It is both clear and stunning. Marxist language is now a part of their programs on campuses throughout the nation. I've also spent many years in the Southern Baptist Church. In addition, my wife and I founded a PCA church in our living room many years ago. In spite of my close relationship with all these institutions, the evidence of their fall from Godliness is overwhelming. In the near future, I plan to focus on the developments within the organization I once knew as Campus Crusade for Christ. It is important to expose these enemies who have crept into Christendom. These have entered our Christian institutions in an effort to destroy the Church. The "gospel" they promote will bear no fruit. Marxist ideology mixed with Bible verses will produce neither salvation nor the health, peace, and prosperity of civilizations. Marxist concepts like social justice, critical race theory and the myths inherent in the concept of "white privilege" are ungodly, contrary to all of the Scriptures, and represent evil and destructive weapons designed to destroy the church, the family, and societies. They are drenched in narcissism and hatred. These ideas, now permeating most of our seminaries and academic institutions (beginning in elementary school), will soon destroy the nation if we do not expose them for the evil they represent. PLEASE HELP US FINISH THIS PROJECT BY CONTRIBUTING HERE. $40,000 is needed to complete the film. Consider the opportunity prayerfully. Thanks! Watch the Trailer here. ARCHIVES ...
