This week, the Judiciary Committee held a hearing for President Biden’s Attorney General nominee, Judge Merrick Garland. No one doubts that Judge Garland is qualified, but the role of Attorney General requires more than just qualifications. Watch my questions for Judge Garland here.

As an Iowan and former governor, Secretary Vilsack has the knowledge and experience to keep supporting America’s farmers while they feed and fuel our country. I was proud to support his confirmation to lead the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

I also joined my colleagues in the Iowa Congressional delegation to urge Secretary Vilsack to expand eligibility of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program to include custom cattle feeders, a sector of Iowa’s agricultural economy operated primarily by family farmers.

I led a bipartisan group of lawmakers to reintroduce the EAGLES Act. This critical bill would expand the Secret Service’s National Threat Assessment Center with a greater focus on school violence prevention. Check out more about this legislation here.
