John: We have some alarming news.
According to the Los Angeles Times' Noah Bierman, “Research shows that Kamala Harris may be the most targeted American politician on the internet.”
The reason? She “checks every box for the haters of the fever swamps: She's a woman, she's a person of color and she holds power.”
We've seen these attacks firsthand. Before losing the 2020 election, Trump brazenly claimed that Harris “could never be president,” Republican representatives have claimed Harris' success can be attributed to who she dated -- and Senator Lindsey Graham went as far as threatening to impeach Kamala Harris because, according to him, she was the true inciter of violence “because she actually bailed out [Black Lives Matter protesters].”
Harris is no stranger to rising above the GOP's sexist, racist slander. But Cecile Guerin, a researcher for a think tank countering disinformation, has warned that highly personalized attacks against Harris are likely to imply to women “that they should quit politics and that they don't belong in the public space.” And the hateful disinformation spread about her will only encourage more attacks like what we saw on January 6.
That's why we refuse to stay silent while the GOP fuels hatred among their base against our VP -- and we need to hear from YOU today. John, let us know if you refuse to grow numb to the GOP's attacks on women and if you will stand by Harris as she makes her mark on Washington:
