** 1.3 million adult immigrants in the US
identify as LGBT

An estimated 1,274,500 LGBT foreign-born adults live in the U.S., including 289,700 who are undocumented and 984,800 who are documented. Findings show that LGBT immigrants represent approximately 3% of adult immigrants in the U.S. and are more often male and younger. Among undocumented LGBT adults, three-quarters (76%) are Latino/a, 14% are Asian or Pacific Islander, 7% are white, and 3% are Black.

** One-third of gay and bisexual men who take PrEP discontinue use within three years
------------------------------------------------------------
Our new study finds a significant increase in familiarity with pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) among gay and bisexual men. However, one-third (33%) of gay and bisexual men who were taking PrEP discontinued use over a three-year period. While attitudes toward PrEP were mostly positive, more than a quarter (27%) of gay and bisexual men who were eligible for and familiar with PrEP had a negative attitude towards it. The uptake of PrEP increased over the study period, however, overall use remained persistently low.
