Yesterday, I voted to pass the Equality Act so that our LGBTQ family, friends, and neighbors have equal protections under the law. In the next 24 hours, I'm voting for a bill to provide urgently needed to families and businesses struggling in this pandemic.

Neither of these bills would have made it to the floor if Kevin McCarthy were in the Speaker's chair, and Republicans are only 5 seats away from putting him there.

McCarthy has already started plotting his 2022 strategy -- with the aid of Donald Trump. McCarthy is going to double down on all the dangerous extremism of the Trump wing of the GOP, because he sees that as the only strategy for victory.

We've seen the high turnout that Trump inspires, and it could be enough to flip control of the House next year. We have very little room for error, and we need to defend every potentially competitive seat.
