John,

In a historic nomination, Neera Tanden could become the first woman of color to head the White House Office of Management and Budget -- but Republicans are determined to block her nomination and force Biden to seek an alternative.

Tanden, a daughter of immigrants, has spent her decades-long career advocating for American families. She played a critical role in developing the Affordable Care Act as a senior advisor under the Obama administration and has worked to bolster the social programs she attributes to her success after her mom lost her job.

But GOP Senators Mitt Romney and Susan Collins have promised to block her confirmation, hypocritically claiming that Tanden's “extreme rhetoric” and “animosity” on social media critiques of Republicans make her unfit for the role.

It's clear, as Rachel Maddow points out, that “Neera Tanden's nomination is hanging by a thread because of the absolutely outrageous and overt double standard to which she is being subjected.”

Biden has now doubled down on his support of Tanden, and we don't want the GOP to continue using their sexist, racist double-standards to stall this confirmation any longer, especially when the OMB is tasked with overlooking federal funding distribution for Biden's agenda, including the pandemic relief package. That's why we need to hear from YOU:

Do you think the GOP should confirm Neera Tanden?

YES   NO

Thank you for adding your voice to ours today.
