I just got this email from Ben asking if we're on track with our fundraising for July. As it stands right now, I'm going to have to tell him we aren't. According to the budget, we needed to raise $7,000 from our grassroots supporters by the mid-month mark tomorrow. So far, we've only raised about $4,500.
I'm reaching out to you to see if you can help make up the difference with a $25 contribution before I report back to Ben tomorrow. >> [link removed]
I know it feels like we just met our huge end of quarter goal and we're already turning around and asking for more, and that's frustrating. Trust me, this is my least favorite part of my job, but we have to keep pace with the special interest money pouring in on the other side. (This is also why we need to pass laws to stop the flow of dark money into races like ours -- something Ben has voted to do and will keep fighting for!)
The math on this one isn't hard: If just 100 of our supporters step up with a contribution of $25, we will be back on track. Will you be one of them?
