Hi John,

I got my start in politics two decades ago by serving on the Westbrook City Council. A handful of years later, I was elected to serve in the State Legislature. So while I only have about a month under my belt as the Chair of the Maine Democratic Party, I can say with confidence that the path to progress is a long one.

Elections are often seen as mile markers along that path, but it’s the work done from day to day in town offices and the State House that drives Maine’s progress forward. That’s why the Maine Democratic Party is so critical: year in and year out, cycle after cycle, the Maine Dems are on the ground, plugging in and making sure that Democrats have the support needed to win up and down the ballot in Maine.
