Hi John,

During his confirmation hearings, Merrick Garland made the American people a promise: that investigating the white supremacist groups that invaded the Capitol and bolstering civil rights would be his priority as Attorney General.

Garland believes that the threat of domestic extremism has reached its peak and that the Justice Department should fight against systemic racism while ensuring the civil rights of communities of color, those who've been persecuted for the last four years, are protected.

This responsibility is personal for our new AG. In an emotional reflection, he described his family's flight from antisemitism in Eastern Europe, saying, “The country took us in -- and protected us. I feel an obligation to the country to pay back. This is the highest, best use of my own set of skills to pay back.”

We're proud that, after being blocked from a lifetime Supreme Court appointment by the GOP, Garland will be leading the fight against far-right extremism when our country needs it most. But the Trump era has sown public distrust in our justice system, and we need to know if the American people have hopes for our new AG. Please, let us know where you stand John:
