John, today, we want to share with you what Team Cori has been up to this month.
A lot happened in February and Cori was leading every step of the way. From holding seditionists in Congress accountable, rushing relief to Texans impacted by catastrophic winter storms, to demanding a meaningful COVID-19 relief bill that includes a $15 minimum wage — Cori was fighting tooth and nail to help our most vulnerable communities and to deliver the transformative change our country needs.
Thanks to the support of this grassroots movement, we pulled off some big wins too this past month. She’s securing $350 billion dollars in COVID-19 relief for states, localities, tribes, and territories — including hundreds of millions of dollars for St. Louis. She wrote to the Department of Justice, calling for an investigation into the disparate treatment of activists and protesters for Black lives by federal law enforcement. This past Monday, Cori introduced a bill to grant Alex Garcia permanent legal residency after he spent 3.5 years living in sanctuary inside a St. Louis church. Two days later, ICE promised not to deport him and Alex got to go home to his family.
We’re proud of this movement and what we accomplished together — but we also know there’s still plenty of big fights ahead of us to keep pushing for the bold change we need in our country. If you want to support Cori in this work, will you make a donation today and help us reach our $20,000 end-of-month fundraising goal?
