John, in a moment, I’m going to ask you to make a donation to

As the first Latino to represent California in the Senate in history, I’m
determined to use this platform to open the doors of opportunity for the
millions of Americans who feel left behind and forgotten.

I am the son of Mexican immigrants who worked long hours as a house
cleaner and cook to make ends meet.

When I was admitted into MIT to study mechanical engineering, I took on a
number of janitorial and cleaning jobs to afford tuition and would return
home to mentor young students in my community who aspired to get a degree
or enter the STEM field one day.

I understand the promise of the American Dream but also know all too well
how out of reach and fragile it can be to attain for far too many.

That’s why I’ve dedicated myself to fighting to ensure every eligible
American can exercise their right to vote and I’m pushing for the policies
in the Senate that will uplift our struggling communities so the American
Dream is within reach.
