Over the last weeks, we’ve seen the devastating impacts of the climate crisis right in our own backyards.

No corner of our planet is immune from the climate crisis. The recent winter storms in the South may even be connected to warming in the Arctic. The Arctic is warming twice as fast as the rest of the globe, which weakens the jet stream that usually keeps the cold air in the Arctic in place. As the jet stream weakens and becomes wavier, it makes it easier for blasts of cold air from the Arctic to reach all the way to the South. That means slowing down warming right now not only protects Arctic communities and ecosystems, but also benefits all of us.

This year, you’ve stepped up in big ways to demand climate solutions that will put us on a path to a safer, healthier future. In honor of International Polar Bear Day this Saturday, take the next step to protect our climate, our communities, and polar bears by making your gift to EDF today.

With a new administration, we have a new opportunity to implement climate policies that will not only protect polar bears in the Arctic but vulnerable communities here and around the world as well.

Tens of thousands of activists like you have sent messages to the Biden-Harris administration to demand swift climate action. And President Biden is listening. Already, the President has taken action to protect our public lands, cut climate pollution, bring back scientific integrity, and more.

But we still have a long way to go. With your support, we can empower more climate advocates like you to take action to protect everything climate change threatens — from polar bears to people.

Climate action is the number one way we can protect polar bears — and ourselves. Will you chip in today to make sure we have the power to keep demanding climate solutions?

As climate activists, we've always had a soft spot for these lumbering giants in peril, a visible symbol of the toll climate change takes. But together, we have the power to change the tide.

Thank you for being part of this movement,
