I was born and raised on a small family farm in Nambé, New Mexico. My father was a union ironworker and my mother a public school employee. They instilled in me the values of hard work and community service from a young age.

That’s why I’ve dedicated myself to improving the lives of New Mexicans through public service — fighting to create good-paying jobs, increasing access to quality, affordable health care, and protecting our state’s natural resources and treasured public lands.

As chair of the House Democrats’ campaign arm, I led the effort to win back the House in 2018 by electing the most diverse and youngest Congress in history. Together, we worked to lower prescription drug prices, reduce health care costs, fight for clean air and water, restore voting rights and equal rights, and build a brighter future for our kids.

Then last year, we won our competitive Senate race right here in New Mexico and took back the majority. Exceeding everyone’s expectations and finally putting an end to Mitch McConnell’s grip on power.

Thanks to your courage and actions, Democrats hold the majority in Washington for the first time in about a decade.

Now, 2021 is a year of opportunity. We have a real chance to make a difference in people’s lives. All we have to do is stay focused on the hard work in front of us. So, here comes the part where I ask for your support:
