Friend —
I can’t believe it, but our annual Douglass-Debs Fundraiser &
Dinner is less than one week away.
And it’s going to be so, so good.
Representative Rashida Tlaib, who is a member of
our Chapter, will be chairing the event and serving as our official
Keynote Speaker.
We’re also lucky to be joined by guest speaker Dr. Abdul
El-Sayed, and event honorees Nia Winston
(UNITE HERE Local 24), Tameka Ramsey (Michigan
Voice/Pontiac Policy Council), and David Green
(Metro-Detroit DSA).
The Douglass-Debs Dinner funds almost all of the
amazing work we do each year. Our Chapter is entirely
grassroots-funded and volunteer-powered. We
receive no money from billionaires, corporations, or foundations. That
means we count on your support to keep this work
going.
Can
you help support our mighty, mighty DSA Chapter by buying a ticket to
the Douglass-Debs Dinner today?
You can also purchase a “solidarity ticket” to
send a comrade who cannot afford a ticket to the dinner.
And because this revolution is about bread AND roses, you
should also know that the Douglass-Debs Dinner is going to be extremely
fun this year:
- Food will be provided by Bandhu Gardens (vegan
options galore).
- Live music will be provided by the Detroit People’s
Marching Band.
-
DJ Brandon Moss will be on the 1s and 2s.
- Bernie Sanders will be present at the photo
booth.
So come dance, be merry, and celebrate this beautiful struggle
called “life” with your comrades!
