Hi,
I hope you and your loved ones are doing as well as possible after the deeply difficult week Texas just went through.
Now that Texans are starting to get our feet back under us, I wanted to send a quick note to introduce myself -- as the new Chief of Staff at the Texas Democratic Party.
I'm deeply honored to be taking on this new role, and I'm looking forward to working alongside each and every one of you as we fight to shape a better future for Texas. I'd like to tell you a bit about myself -- but let me start by saying thank you, because you are a critical part of this movement.
What drives our fight as Texas Democrats is our belief that if you have the power to help someone, you should. Growing up in Dallas, that's a belief my family instilled in me -- and I know it's one I share with this entire community. And it's something I've come back to every day -- from my five years of service in the Texas Legislature, to my campaign work, to my time as the County Services Coordinator for the Texas Democratic Party last year.
In my experience, there's always someone you can help. And there's always someone who's turned around and helped you when you needed it. That understanding is what sets us apart as Democrats. We know that all of us deserve kindness, human decency, and a fair shot -- and we're not afraid to fight for it. The way I see it, my job is to make that work a little easier for you. I'm here to strengthen the bridges that link us, and help our movement be greater than the sum of its parts.
And we must -- because Texas needs us. As a Black woman with a long career in politics, I'm acutely and frankly, often painfully aware of that. For far too long, our Black and brown communities have been put through more pain than anyone should ever go through. But like Black History Month reminds us, and like we saw last week, it's also Black leaders -- giants like Barbara Jordan and Eddie Bernice Johnson -- who have always pushed our country forward.
We stand on their shoulders. I could not be more proud to be part of the movement that is heir to their legacy. We have the power to finish the work they began. Chip in $7 to be part of it today:

Let's keep fighting hard, and bringing hope.
Thanks for all you do,
