[1]Pramila Jayapal

Pramila has been fighting since this pandemic started for recurring
survival checks and she’s continued to lead the fight in Congress to raise
the minimum wage to $15.

Other members of Congress have been waiting for their next $10,000 from
the Walmart PAC and McDonald’s PAC — corporate PACs run by the very people
who don’t want to see the federal minimum wage increased for the first
time in 12 years. And now, some in Congress think we should listen to the
advice of an unelected parliamentarian and remove the minimum wage
increase from the COVID relief bill — instead of giving 27 million workers
a long overdue raise.

Is it a surprise that we’ve waited years and years to raise the federal
minimum wage to $15 when so many U.S. Representatives and Senators are
taking money from the very corporations that don’t want our people-first
policies enacted? Pramila doesn’t take a penny of corporate PAC money, so
that she can advocate for the working people across this country who need
higher wages, not for the executives at McDonald’s and WalMart who have
gotten wealthier during this crisis.

grassroots fundraising while she fights for policies that will make a real
impact in people’s lives? We’re trying to hit 2,500 individual

gets us closer to that urgent goal.

Pramila has been fighting all year for a robust COVID relief package that
includes an increase in the minimum wage to $15. The House will vote on
the relief package today, and this is the bottom line for Pramila: Raising
the wage to $15 must be in this bill.

Raising the wage is good, popular policy — just like Medicare for All and
canceling student debt, other policies that Pramila leads on. One of the
reasons she has to fight so hard for these policies is because of the
corporate PAC donations that other members of Congress take in droves.

Pramila asks you for grassroots donations so she can be an unflinching
advocate for policies that transform this country for working families.
She knows we need to legislate for the 99% of the country, not health
insurance CEOs and the heads of Walmart.

[ [link removed] ]That’s why we’re asking you to support Pramila’s campaign with a
donation of whatever you can afford. Our average contribution this year is
$25.29, not anywhere near the $10,000 some lawmakers are receiving from
Walmart’s PAC.
