National scandal: Over €20 million spent on abortion provision to date, not a cent allotted for positive alternatives ()
[link removed]

The HSE has confirmed that since the introduction of abortion in January 2019, in excess of €20 million has been allocated for the rollout of abortion provision in hospital and community settings throughout the country.

The HSE detailed the massive spending on abortion in a written reply to a Parliamentary Question from AontĂș leader Peadar TĂłibĂn. They confirm in the reply that €11.5 million was allocated in 2019 and a further €9.5 million in 2020.

It is clear from the breakdown provided that the funding was used to cover the costs of abortion provision and advertising. It is also very apparent from the breakdown that not a cent of the vast allocation of funding was spent on promoting positive alternatives to abortion, or on ensuring that women contemplating abortion are informed about these alternatives and the supports that are available.

In 2019, the first year of the rollout of abortion provision, there was a 60% increase in the number of abortions that took place. The figures for 2020 will be released later this year.

It is a national scandal that the people who presided over a 60% increase in abortions in a single year are the very same people who are stonewalling women from getting access to information about positive alternatives to abortion. It is also a scandal that taxpayers’ money is being used to fund abortions and facilitate an extreme pro-abortion agenda.

Thanks however to public representatives like Peadar Tóibín, the truth is starting to emerge. We must continue to take every opportunity to challenge and expose what is taking place in the name of ‘choice’ and the way some of our political leaders are content to keep the lid on everything that’s happening.
“Roe v. Wade” movie premiers today in the US ()

The long-awaited “Roe v. Wade” film, featuring Academy Award-winning actor Jon Voight, premiers today in the US. It is scheduled for general release in April and will be available online through Amazon Prime and iTunes.

The movie documents the infamous Supreme Court ruling, which legalised abortion across the United States in 1973. It tells the true story of the lies and manipulations used to push abortion on America.

Northern Ireland MP appointed co-chair of Westminster pro-life grouping ()
[link removed]
Carla Lockhart, the DUP MP for Upper Bann has been appointed the Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Pro-Life Group in Westminster parliament.

Ms Lockhart has been a vocal MP in defending the right to life since she won her seat in 2019. She has also campaigned with disability rights advocate Heidi Crowter for a ban on the discriminatory law imposed on Northern Ireland that permits abortion up to birth where an unborn baby is diagnosed with a disability.

In her new appointment, she will join Fiona Bruce MP as co-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Pro-Life Group. Hopefully they’ll achieve great things working as a team, along with their other colleagues in the All Party Parliamentary Pro-Life Group.
Young mum Hannah “so thankful” she was able to reverse effects of abortion pill ()
[link removed]

A young mom who initially took an abortion pill to end the life of her baby says she is so thankful that she changed her mind and was able to turn things around through abortion pill reversal (APR) and save her son, Landyn, who is now 19 months old.

“I’m so, so glad that I didn’t do that,” mom Hannah said of her impending abortion. “He’s just the best little boy.” She is urging other moms who believe abortion is their only choice to pause and not act in haste.

Hannah says that when it came time to take the second dosage of the abortion pill, she was conflicted.

“I had the pills in my hand, I was ready to take the pills, and I couldn’t do it,” she said.

Then she became worried about the effect that the first pill was having on her baby and she immediately started searching the internet for help, which she received from the Abortion Pill RescueÂź Network (APRN).

Her story is one of countless similar stories that have come to light in recent times. It is an outrage that members of the media and abortion campaigners are so fixated with shutting down access to abortion pill reversal (APR). Peacefully but persistently, we must fight against this prejudice and suppression of information.
Australian study highlights shortage of palliative care doctors, as politicians push for euthanasia ()
[link removed]

Australia has only half the number of palliative care doctors needed to provide appropriate care for terminally ill patients, according to research carried out by the university-based PM Glynn Institute.

It is a recurring reality in countries where the push is on to introduce euthanasia – shifting the focus away from good quality palliative care and meeting the needs of chronically and terminally ill patients.

Tasmania is set to become the third state in Australia to legalise euthanasia after Western Australia and Victoria. MPs in Queensland are also set to vote on euthanasia legislation in the near future.

Dr Michael Casey, director of the PM Glynn Institute said: “We need to do more to ensure that everyone who needs good quality palliative care can access it, wherever they are and whatever their circumstances, before considering a momentous step like voluntary assisted dying.”

The author of the new study, Dr Cris Abbu, said more doctors and nurses need to be encouraged to choose to work in palliative care. “Palliative care remains one of the least preferred specialisations of medical students for future practice and the rates of full-time equivalent palliative medicine physicians and palliative care nurses have remained unchanged since 2013 despite the increasing demand,” she said.

The report recommends an active recruitment programme with student scholarships and government subsidies to train an additional 225 specialist doctors.
